It’s been a long time since Texas was a college football powerhouse. The Longhorns have largely been an afterthought for most of the last decade and a half and haven’t won anything of significance since the Mack Brown era.
That might change during the 2022 college football season.
With top quarterback recruit Quinn Ewers supported by a legitimate Heisman candidate in Bijan Robinson, and one of the nation’s top offensive casts overall, Steve Sarkisian might be cooking something special in Austin. That said, what looks good on paper still has to overcome rivals like Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and even reigning conference champion Baylor.
