Andy Staples believes Brian Hartline is a candidate for a Big Ten head coaching job

This is a laughable idea #GoBucks

It’s par for the course for [autotag]Ohio State football [/autotag] and its coordinators to be linked to other jobs, with the most recent one being [autotag]Brian Hartline[/autotag].

If you haven’t been following, Michigan State has suspended head coach Mel Tucker with the most likely outcome being that both parties will part ways. With the potentially open head coaching job, On3’s Andy Staples believes Hartline is a candidate to replace him.

The former Buckeye is one of seven assistants or head coaches that Staples believes are potentially in line to take over the Spartan program. Honestly, if I was any of those coaches, I would politely decline any conversations about that job.

Michigan State is not a destination school, it’s mired in controversy and the smoke screen season of 2021 is exactly that, an abnormality. Yes, [autotag]Mark Dantonio[/autotag] had the program among the best in the country, but there hasn’t been an ability to replicate anything close to the consistent success he had.

Dantonio’s name has been kicked around to return to East Lansing, and that might be the best option, because it’s going to be very difficult to work through the issues the Spartans have right now without a seasoned head coach.
