An Ohio State running back is listed as a top ten ball carrier for 2020, but maybe not the one you think

Whatever running back is getting carries should put up lots of yards for Ohio State. Draft Wire thinks this back is a top ten one for 2020.

From time to time we keep an eye on what the folks at Draft Wire put together. They are some of the best experts at what is and will happen for all the NFL draft news you want. They did a great job with the 2020 NFL Draft, and since that’s now in the rearview, it’s all about looking ahead to 2021 now.

We’ve already seen a few mock NFL drafts from Luke Easterling that have a couple of Ohio State players going in the first-round of all the fun, and now the gang is back to rank the top ten running backs heading into 2021.

If we’re talking about ball-carriers for the Buckeyes’ though, we’re really looking at two guys. There’s Master Teague, who was the guy in waiting prior to injuring his Achilles in the spring, and then there’s Oklahoma transfer Trey Sermon.

Who gets the starting nod remains to be seen, but most think Sermon will be the No. 1 guy with Teague splitting carries as long as he’s healthy. So, it might be a bit surprising then that Patrick Conn picked Teague as a top ten back overall rather than Sermon, but there’s good reason to think he can elbow his way in as the No. 1 option if he can prove he’s healthy. We wouldn’t count a kid with his character, work ethic, and skill set out.

So what does Conn say about the Teague? Click through the next page to find out.
