Alamo Bowl: Players who are key for a Texas Longhorns victory

With the Valero Alamo Bowl fast approaching, we look at which Texas Longhorns will be key for a victory on Tuesday night in San Antonio.

Andrej Karic, Offensive Tackle

The offensive line will be tested against the Colorado Buffaloes front. They have three pass rushers with double-digit pressures in just five games played. The Longhorns won’t have Derek Kerstetter or Samuel Cosmi up front, making way for the young guns. One of the most important players will be Andrej Karic.

Against Kansas State, Karic played left tackle in the second half following the Kerstetter injury. The Alamo Bowl could be his audition for the starting left tackle spot for the 2021 season. Given how he performed against the Wildcats, there is the confidence that he will do fine against Colorado. For the Longhorns offense to keep rolling, Karic will need to pave the way in the run game and keep Sam Ehlinger upright.
