Alabama MBB slides to No. 10 in latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll

Alabama basketball slides, but has a chance to gain ground as SEC play begins.

After a loss to Gonzaga, the Alabama men’s basketball team went from being ranked inside the top-five to No. 10.

Despite some dominant performances against top teams, including two top-ranked programs, Alabama’s second loss of the season was enough to bring the Crimson Tide down five spots in the latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

The poll does not count for the team’s recent win over Jackson State, but that win may not be enough to move the needle in the next rankings.

Alabama will play No. 15 Mississippi State on the road next week on Dec. 28, in an SEC opener that means a lot for both programs.
