Alabama Football injury report heading into Week 2 vs. Texas Longhorns

Roll Tide Wire takes a look at Alabama football’s injury report heading into Week 2 versus No. 11 Texas.

Alabama had a convincing win over Middle Tennessee State in the season opener on Saturday. However, several players suffered injuries during the game. Defensive backs Jaylen Key and Malachi Moore both left the game with injuries and did not return.

Saban was able to provide the latest on Monday afternoon. “They’re both day-to-day,” Saban said, “It’s probably too early to tell what their circumstance will be.” He would also go on to add that neither injury appears to be a long-term issue.

That is good news considering that Moore and Key are key pieces to Alabama’s secondary. The two of them played well in Week 1 against the Blue Raiders offense.

Another player that was expected to contribute in Alabama’s wide receiver room is sophomore Emmanuel Henderson. Saban was able to elaborate on why Henderson was spotted with crutches. “He has a hip injury,” Saban said, “It’s going to probably be a few more weeks before he gets back into the swing of things but hard to know exactly when.”

According to Saban, Henderson was also having a “great fall camp”. The Alabama native will provide a boost to Alabama’s receiving core when he is cleared to return.
