Former Ohio State running back Chip Trayanum transfers once again

In case you missed it, one more stop #GoBucks

Akron native Chip Trayanum started his college career at Arizona State before coming to Ohio State for two years. After the 2023 season, Trayanum decided to look for greener pastures and headed south to Kentucky. After just one season with the Wildcats, Trayanum again entered the transfer portal and has landed at Toledo.

When Trayanum transferred to Ohio State, the plan was for him to play linebacker. With the rash of injuries at running back in the fall of 2022, Trayanum went back to the offensive side of the ball to add depth. Platooning in the backfield in 2023 he rushed for 373 yards and three touchdowns. The biggest of those touchdowns came in South Bend, Indiana, in the closing seconds to give the Buckeyes a win over Notre Dame, a win fans will long remember.

Trayanum’s time in Lexington was marred with injury. He appeared in just three games with Kentucky racking up 101 yards and no touchdowns on 19 total carries.

This will be the final year of eligibility for the former Buckeye. He’ll hope to stay injury free and end his collegiate career on a high note.
