Haason Reddick’s hold out has allowed the Jets to develop DL Will McDonald

New York Jets linebacker Haason Reddick was hoping his hold-out would expedite a desired contract. Instead, the Jets have used his absence to develop the hidden treasure that is defensive end Will McDonald IV

Under the leadership of defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich and a collaborative of super-batch pass rushers, the Jets are in no rush to exhaust expenditures on Reddick. Reddick has proven himself as a solid NFL pass rusher but his talents might not be needed for the Jets to succeed this season.

Reddick’s chance to bait the Jets’ is becoming probable considering the recent injury to defensive end Jermaine Johnson, but rookie defensive lineman Braiden McGregor is just as (or more) prepared to be an asset at a lower cost.

McDonald made his presence felt in week 2 when he sacked Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis three times, including his huge sack that occurred in the fourth-quarter.

Reddick has the potential to be an additional asset to an already stellar Jets’ defense. However, his absence hasn’t shown to be that pivotal as his team finishes their second consecutive week allowing only two touchdowns.
