Wisconsin unranked in latest AP Poll after blowout loss to No. 4 Alabama

Wisconsin not included in latest AP Poll prior to Week 4

The Wisconsin Badgers (2-1) are unranked in the latest AP Poll, which comes as no surprise following their 42-10 loss to No. 4 Alabama in Week 3.

The Badgers were also unranked after the first two weeks of the season despite starting 2-0. With the loss on Saturday, the team fell out of the ‘receiving votes’ section.

Luke Fickell’s team received nine total votes last week after beating South Dakota 27-13 to improve to 2-0 on the year. They received zero votes after the lopsided defeat to the Crimson Tide.

The Badgers were also not included in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll on Sunday, falling out of the ‘receiving votes’ section of that poll as well.

In regards to the AP Poll as a whole, Texas unseated Georgia for the No. 1 overall spot following the Longhorns’ 56-7 win over UTSA on Saturday.

The Big Ten teams in the AP Poll top 25 include Ohio State at No. 3, Oregon at No. 9, Penn State at No. 10, USC at No. 11, Michigan at No. 18, Nebraska at No. 22 and Illinois at No. 24.

The Badgers have a bye in Week 4 before they will travel to face No. 11 USC on Sept. 28. The team needs a string of statement performances if it is to return to top-25 consideration.
