Wisconsin still absent from latest AP Poll ahead of Week 2

The Wisconsin Badgers remain unranked in the latest AP Poll ahead of their Week 2 matchup with South Dakota.

Wisconsin is coming off a 28-14 win over Western Michigan last Friday, compiling 388 total yards to WMU’s 261 in the contest. The Badgers entered the season on the outside of the top 25 in the preseason AP Poll, and their Week 1 performance was not enough to rise into the ranking.

Luke Fickell’s squad was once again in the ‘receiving votes’ section, garnering eight total votes, which was good enough to be tied with Auburn and Vanderbilt for the No. 36 slot.

The Badgers also failed to crack the US LBM Coaches Poll on Tuesday, slotting in with the 34-highest total amount of votes.

Notable Big Ten teams in the AP Poll’s top 25 include Ohio State at No. 2, Oregon at No. 7, Penn State at No. 8, Michigan at No. 10, USC at No. 13 and Iowa at No. 21.
