Texas DT Byron Murphy projected No. 13 in CBS Sports’ latest NFL mock draft

Byron Murphy has been projected to the Raiders in several recent mock drafts.

Texas defensive tackle Byron Murphy is consistently projected to be taken off the board between picks 10-20 of NFL mock drafts.

The most common landing spot for Murphy appears to be the Las Vegas Raiders. In CBS Sports’ latest NFL mock draft, Josh Edwards projected Murphy to the Raiders with the No. 13 overall pick.

Here’s what Edwards had to say about the fit.

Offense, defense, it did not matter once Antonio Pierce took over as head coach: both sides of the ball had new energy. Maxx Crosby threatening to request a trade if Pierce was not hired long-term was the perfect example of his influence. The Raiders need help on the offensive line and cornerback, but address another need in the first round.

Other notable landing spots have been the Indianapolis Colts at No. 15 and the Seattle Seahawks at pick No. 20. Regardless of where he lands, it’s a sure bet that Murphy will be taken off the board in the first round come April.
