Nebraska women’s basketball hit the road following its upset win over No. 2 Iowa to take on the new No. 2 Ohio State. However, unlike their win against the Hawkeyes, the Huskers fell mightily to the Buckeyes, 80-47.
Nebraska trailed throughout the game, heading into halftime down 33-19. The Huskers fell further in the third quarter, heading into the fourth, trailing 62-34 before eventually ending the game with an 80-47 defeat.
Nebraska coughed up 30 turnovers in the loss, leading to the Buckeyes scoring 29 points off turnovers. Ohio State also landed 14 more shots than the Huskers. Not a single Husker scored double-digits, with Alexis Markowski leading Nebraska with nine points. Markowski also led the Huskers in rebounds, hauling in on the night.
Nebraska now falls to 16-9 in the regular season and 8-6 in conference play. The Huskers will remain on the road, heading west to face Purdue on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. and can be viewed on B1G+.
