Texas defensive tackle Byron Murphy is one of the fastest rising prospects for the 2024 NFL draft.
As the 2023 college football season came to a close, many felt one of Texas’ wide receivers and/or the Outland Trophy winner, T’Vondre Sweat, would be the first Longhorn drafted this year.
However, in numerous recent NFL mock drafts, Murphy is commonly projected to be the first Texas player taken off the board. In the majority of mock drafts, Murphy is selected within the first round and is considered the No. 1 defensive tackle in the class.
Here’s a look at where five NFL mock drafts believe Murphy will land. He is projected as high as No. 11 overall.
