Texas running back Roschon Johnson is one of five Longhorns competing at the NFL Combine this week.
The running backs are expected to do on-field drills on Sunday, but the group of invitees met with the media on Saturday morning. Johnson was able to discuss his recent hand injury, what he has to prove, and his decision to remain at Texas behind Bijan Robinson on the depth chart.
One of the more notable comments from Johnson was centered around which NFL teams he has met with thus far. The former Longhorn mentioned the Atlanta Falcons and Philadelphia Eagles as the two organizations he has had a formal meeting with.
Johnson is currently projected to be selected on Day 2 of the 2023 NFL draft. Considering he was listed as a backup running back throughout his collegiate career, his draft stock is a testament to his character and talent.
Texas RB Roschon Johnson talked about his perseverance, staying with UT rather than transferring. ATL & PHI have been his formal meetings and he said the Eagles “could really use me.” pic.twitter.com/qsJKjhuyZR
