What are the oddsmakers saying about these match ups?

Late in the week we will look at odds and recent lines and make our best picks and bets. Odds courtesy of Vegas Insiderย and inputted at time of writing.

Both divisions are still up for grabs. Who will separate themselves this week. We went 4-2 last week and are 44-40 on the year. Back on the horse with a positive week. Can we keep it up?

San Diego State @ New Mexico (+14.5, O/U 37.5)

San Diego State has maybe found their answer at quarterback in Jalen Mayden. At least he can run the offense well. New Mexico looked strong to start the year, but has faltered down the stretch. The teams defenses’ are strong, but just like against Air Force, New Mexico has the potential to give up the over by themselves.

Pick:ย Over

Boise State @ Wyoming (+14 O/U 44)

Boise State remains a top 5 defense in the country. Wyoming almost lost to Colorado State last week. This one seems easy, but the Cowboys are never an easy one for the Broncos for some reason. This year might be different. If the Broncos win, they’ll win the Mountain division and remain the team to beat in the Mountain West.

Pick:ย Boise State -14

Colorado State @ Air Force (-22, O/U 43.5)

We saw how Colorado State faired against a top 5 defense against Boise State. Against Air Force it’s a different challenge on both sides of the ball. The under has hit in every game but one for the Rams and this game has the hallmarks of the under hitting once again.

Pick:ย Under

San Jose State @ Utah State (+1, O/U 51)

Utah State can play spoiler for the Spartans this weekend as San Jose State looks to remain in contention for the West division crown. The spread seems kind of low, but after the last four games for the Spartans it doesn’t surprise me. The Aggies have a chance here, but the Spartans are going to leave it all out on the field.

Pick: San Jose State -1

Fresno State @ Nevada (+22.5 O/U 54)

After Nevada lost big last week against Boise State, one would think Fresno State would be an easy cover. But they’ve had some issues a couple times this year when you wouldn’t expect them to. The over feels like a safer bet and who knows, Fresno might cover and hit the over.

Pick: Over

UNLV @ Hawai’i (+11 O/U 55.5)

This seems like a bad pick. But you never know what is going to happen on the Islands. UNLV has dropped their last five in a row. And outside of a blowout loss to Fresno State, the Rainbow Warriors have shown glimpses of what they can be under Timmy Chang. This could go either way, but I think Hawai’i covers at home.

Pick: Hawai’i +11
