WATCH: Ja’Marr Chase makes unbelievable catch to set up field goal for Bengals

Not even one of the best corners in the game can keep up with Chase.

After the Los Angeles Rams scored on their second possession to take an early 7-0 lead in Super Bowl LVI, the Bengals needed an answer. They got one from superstar rookie receiver and former LSU Tiger Ja’Marr Chase.

On a first and 10 after the LA touchdown (which came from another former Tiger in Odell Beckham Jr.) from Cincinnati’s own 43-yard line, quarterback Joe Burrow dropped back into coverage and looked in the direction of Chase, who had a step on First-Team All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey near the sideline.

Chase made an excellent adjustment to the ball to reel it in inside the red zone, and he was pulled down near the end zone at the four-yard line after a 46-yard pickup.

Here’s a better angle that shows off just how impressive of a snag it was.

The Rams managed to get the stop as Ramsey earned some redemption by breaking up a potential touchdown pass to receiver Tee Higgins on third down. Cincinnati had to settle for a field goal from rookie kicker Evan McPherson, whose leg secured wins in the previous two rounds of the NFL playoffs.

It’s still early in the big game, but former LSU players are already starting to take over the contest.
