Wide receiver Jameson Williams joined the Crimson Tide in 2021 after spending his first two years of collegiate eligibility with the Ohio State Buckeyes. Though he only spent one season with Alabama, his impact was great and he certainly won’t be forgotten as a star in Tuscaloosa.
One season may not seem like much, but it was enough to propel Williams into the national conversation and a nearly-guaranteed first-round prospect.
A torn ACL hindered his chances of being WR1 in the upcoming 2022 NFL draft, but he’s still climbing charts and is expected to be selected in the latter half of the first round.
The latest 2022 NFL mock draft done by Kyle Stackpole of CBS Sports projects Williams being drafted No. 26 overall by the Tennessee Titans.
Stackpole writes,
“Williams is too good for the Titans to pass up here, even with the Alabama wideout recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in the national championship game. Tennessee’s passing offense was lost whenever A.J. Brown was out with an injury, so selecting Williams would go a long way in rectifying that. Plus, the combination of Brown and Williams would be lethal in the play-action passing game.”
Being drafted by Tennessee means that he would not just be joining a team headlined by Alabama legend Derrick Henry, but that he would be playing alongside former Crimson Tide star wide receiver Julio Jones.
