BOOM! Four-Star offensive lineman, Carson Hinzman commits to Ohio State

Ohio State steals four-star offensive lineman from the state of Wisconsin! #GoBucks

The Ohio State football team just stole a good one from the state of Wisconsin. The Badgers and the Buckeyes were seen as the top two players in the Carson Hinzman sweepstakes, but most thought that it would be a huge upset for Ryan Day to sway Hinzman to Columbus. The 6-foot, 4-inch, interior lineman is the No. 6 rated offensive lineman in the 2022 recruiting class according to 247Sports composite rankings. The Hammond, Wisconsin native is the No. 2 ranked lineman in the Dairy State.

This is a pretty big haul considering Ohio State didn’t have an interior offensive lineman in this current class. It’s an even bigger deal when considering the fact that the Buckeyes basically started two tackles at the guard positions in the 2021 season. It will also be the first time in 50 years that a football player hailing from Wisconsin will dawn the scarlet and gray.

Hinzman’s commitment gives Ohio State 21 commits in the 2022 class, which includes transfer DeaMonte Trayanum from Arizona State.  The Buckeye’s class currently sits at No. 4 according to 247Sports and is continuing to rise.
