Ryan Day, players react to Ohio State’s win over Penn State

Hear what Ryan Day and some of the players said after the hard-fought win over Penn State Saturday night. #GoBucks

We all should have known better. An Ohio State vs. Penn State game rarely disappoints, and it didn’t on Saturday night in front of an all-scarlet dressed team and crowd in the ‘Shoe. Despite last week’s pretty poor performance against Illinois, the Nittany Lions came ready to play against the Buckeyes and made things very difficult.

But OSU found a way to be productive enough on both sides of the ball late to win by a couple of scores, and if you’ve been around college football this year, simply winning and advancing when you are ranked near the top is all you can ask for.

Head coach Ryan Day and some of the players met with the media after the game to discuss the game and waxed mostly positives after coming out the other end of a significant challenge with a win. If you didn’t catch all the postgame hoopla and comments, we’re sharing them with you thanks to the fine folks at Ohio State.

Simply click on the below video and listen to the players discuss the challenges Penn State posed, how they were able to get something going at the end of the game, and more. Also, listen to Ryan Day talk about the pride he has for his team sticking through it, but also highlight some areas where the team has to get better moving forward among other things.

With the win, Ohio State keeps pace with Michigan State atop the Big Ten East standings at 5-0 and will next travel to Nebraska to take on a Cornhuskers team that has lost a slew of close games. It’s just the next challenge on a journey the Buckeyes hope result in another trip to Indianapolis and beyond.
