Texas dropped 10 spots last week in USA TODAY Sports’ re-rank of every college football team, and the trend continued downward on Monday.
It wasn’t as steep of a tumble this week, but the Longhorns still fell one spot to No. 37. Big 12 foes Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Baylor and Iowa State are each listed higher.
While the Longhorns have no chance of participating in the College Football Playoff at this point, a door did open for them to sneak into the Big 12 championship game this week when Iowa State defeated Oklahoma State.
If Texas can win the remaining games on their schedule, and Oklahoma State loses at least two more games, Steve Sarkisian’s team could find themselves in a rematch with Oklahoma in December.
Here is USA TODAY Sports’ re-rank poll in its entirety.
