The Crimson Tide lost outside linebacker and team leader Will Anderson for the remainder of the home-opening contest against Mercer due to a lower leg injury. Anderson walked off the field and into the locker room without any help.
Cole Cubelic of SEC Network reported that Anderson would not be returning due to a lower leg injury.
Aaron Suttles from the Athletic took to Twitter to report that he has received word that while Anderson will not be returning to the game, the lower leg injury is not believed to be major.
More tests will likely be administered soon to diagnose the issue.
Will Anderson’s lower leg injury is not believed to be serious, sources tell The Athletic. I’m sure he’ll have additional tests at some point, but as of now it’s not feared to be a major injury.
