Alamo Bowl: Players who are key for a Texas Longhorns victory

With the Valero Alamo Bowl fast approaching, we look at which Texas Longhorns will be key for a victory on Tuesday night in San Antonio.

After talking about a potential Alamo Bowl game for what feels like weeks, the Longhorns will finally take the field in San Antonio, Texas against Colorado.

In last year’s Alamo Bowl game, Tom Herman became the first Longhorns coach to win his first three bowl games. On Tuesday, he can become the first Texas head coach to win four-straight bowl games since Mack Brown led the Horns to four consecutive bowl wins from 2005-08.

It won’t be an easy task missing six of seven team captains, four defensive starters, and four more on the offensive side of the ball. This is a prime opportunity for many of the younger players to get some much needed in-game action.
