Texas cracks top 25 in preseason USA TODAY Sports Coaches poll

The initial USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll has been released. For the first time since 2016-2017, Texas debuts in the preseason poll.

College basketball season is just around the corner and the initial USA TODAY Sports Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll has been released. For the first time since the 2016-2017 season, Texas debuts in the first poll. The Longhorns are No. 22, the lowest of the Big 12 teams that are ranked.

Baylor leads the way in the conference, being the top team in the entire country. Head coach Scott Drew team has some of the best talent returning after going 26-4 last season. A national championship push is in store for the Bears.

As usual, Kansas (No. 5) is highly ranked, debuting in the top five for the seventh consecutive season. Texas Tech (No. 13) and West Virginia (No. 15) are the other Big 12 teams in the top 25.
