It wasn’t a great week for Big 12 football as a whole, but Texas showcased resiliency and fight with a thriller comeback win over Texas Tech on Saturday.
If you love an offensive shootout, this game was for you. The Longhorns and Red Raiders seemingly traded off touchdowns throughout the entire game. There was no shortage of excitement between two successful onside kicks, several interceptions, acrobatic catches and two touchdowns within the final three minutes of play.
Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger found wide receiver Joshua Moore for a 12-yard touchdown pass in overtime to seal the deal for the Longhorns. Ehlinger accounted for six total touchdowns on the day and played his best ball when the stakes were highest.
Moore led Texas in receiving with five receptions for 73 yards and three touchdowns. It wasn’t much of a defensive day for either team considering the final score was 63-56, but it’s notable — and impressive — that Texas defensive back B.J. Foster recorded seven total tackles.
It was one of the most thrilling endings of a college football game in the last several years. As you can imagine, social media was electric when Texas completed the miraculous comeback in the final minutes of play.
