Wednesday afternoon, after the Big Ten announced its decision to reinstate the fall football season, inquiring minds almost immediately turned to the status of both Wyatt Davis and Shaun Wade. Both declared for the 2021 NFL Draft within the past week, but both had already made the decision to hold off on dreams of NFL grandeur last season to give it one more ride in Columbus.
On a Zoom call with reporters on Wednesday, head coach Ryan Day reiterated that both guys still wanted to play for Ohio State and that “now there’s that opportunity.”
And to be fair, both potential first-round NFL draft picks pulled the plug on hopes for another season at Ohio State because of how long it took the Big Ten to announce a path forward.
Well, it didn’t take long for Davis to decided what his intentions were. He has since made it clear that he wants to come back to OSU for one more season in a series of posts he tweeted out himself.
First, the message to Buckeye Nation.

Then, this morning. How about a retweet of himself in a Buckeye uniform?

Then, in perhaps the most clever tweet, a picture of another comeback many might be familiar with.

There’s still no official word from Ohio State or Davis, but it sure appears as though things are lining up for Davis to be back with the team. When the word comes for sure, we’ll be all over it.
