WATCH: Texas RB Bijan Robinson showcases speed during fall camp

Texas running back Bijan Robinson is turning heads early throughout fall camp.

Texas fans are anxious to witness the nation’s top running back take the field this season.
Freshman running back Bijan Robinson was the No. 1 overall player at his position out of the 2020 recruiting class. In fact, his 0.9928 grade according to 247Sports Composite is listed among the top 300 recruits of all-time.

He’s expected to compete for playing time immediately at Texas behind Keontay Ingram and Roschon Johnson. Head coach Tom Herman has expressed high praise for Robinson throughout his short stint on campus thus far.

“He’s what they’re supposed to look like,” Herman stated after the team’s first practice. “He’s 18 going on 24 in terms of the maturity that he has not only mentally, but physically when you look at his body. Again, he looks like a kid that’s been through a (head strength coach) Yancy McKnight offseason for a good three of four years and this is an 18-year-old kid showing up from Tucson, Arizona. He’s everything you want.”

On Monday, fans were able to get a glimpse of why Herman continues to gush over Robinson. The Texas football social media account released a highlight video of his speed during fall camp.

There’s not a debate on whether Robinson will see the field this season. Instead, the primary question centers around how quickly the true freshman will be able to take over the starting role.
