Former Ohio State DB Jeff Okudah inks rookie contract with Lions

Former Ohio State cornerback Jeff Okudah has reportedly signed a four-year rookie contract with the Detroit Lions.

According to multiple reports, former Ohio State corner Jeff Okudah has officially signed his rookie deal with the Detroit Lions. Okudah was picked up in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft as the No. 3 overall pick by the Lions after a stellar career at Ohio State.

He was widely considered the best defensive back prospect available in this year’s draft, and despite rumors of the contrary leading up to all the excitement, the Lions couldn’t pass up on the potential of Okudah being a lockdown DB. The organization let All-Pro Darius Slay leave via free agency, and it hopes Okudah is the answer.

According to Ian Rapoport, the deal is consistent with what you’d expect a standard four-year entry-level contract for a pick taken in the same neighborhood.

Now that all the business is out of the way, it’ll be exciting to see how quickly Okudah acclimates himself to the next level.
