WATCH: Jordan Spieth takes the lead at Charles Schwab Challenge

Texas ex Jordan Spieth had an impressive Friday morning at the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas.

On Friday morning, Texas ex Jordan Spieth had two of the best rounds we’ve seen from him in a long time.

Spieth is currently competing in the Charles Schwab Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas. It’s a professional golf tournament on the PGA Tour that is played annually in May with a purse totaling $7,500,000.

After Spieth held a share of the lead for a moment, he had back-to-back birdies on his ninth and tenth holes that put him alone at the top. He finished the day one shot off of the lead after carding his second straight 5-under 65.

Here’s the current leaderboard:

  • Varner (-11)
  • Spieth (-10)
  • McIlroy (-9)
  • Schauffele (-9)
  • Morikawa (-9)
  • Thomas (-8)
  • Rose (-7)

Spieth hasn’t led/co-lead after 36 holes on the PGA Tour since 2017. He had a few late bumps in the road today but overall the layoff seems to have benefited him, his swing looks great and he’s under control.

Don’t call it a comeback.
