DaVon Hamilton is officially off the board. He maybe went a little earlier than many thought by sneaking into the third round with the 73rd overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Hamilton was a steady and solid presence on a very, very good defense for Ohio State. He is a 54-game veteran defensive tackle who started 17 times, including all 14 games in 2019 when Ohio State won its third consecutive outright Big Ten title. Truth be known, he was probably a little underrated in terms of the work he did for the Buckeye defense.
He finished with a terrific senior season at defensive tackle with 10.5 tackles-for-losses totaling 52 yards, six quarterback sacks and 28 total tackles. He also earned third-team all-Big Ten Conference honors by both the coaches and media.
He’s a guy that has a motor that will not quit, will work hard and give the Jaguars everything he has in the middle of the defensive line.
