A four-star wide receiver labeled the fastest player in the Texas from the 2021 recruiting class mentions Texas as one of his top remaining schools.
Theodore Knox is currently listed as the No. 29 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 29 overall player in Texas, according to 247 Sports Composite.
His 5-foot-10, 167-pound frame can absolutely fly. Although he did not get a chance to record new track times this season due to injury, as a sophomore in 2019 he clocked a 10.40 seconds in the 100 meters and 21.03 in the 200 meters.
He’s received offers from dozens of programs such as Alabama, Baylor, Arkansas, and Texas Tech. The Woodlands, TX product plans to announce his commitment in June, but notes that Mississippi State and Texas are two of his top remaining schools.
Knox confirms that he’s been in contact with Texas receivers coach Andre Coleman often, who appears to have made a strong impression on the speedster.
“I’ve been talking to Texas a lot. I’ve been talking to the receiver coach Andre Coleman. They’ve been hitting me up a lot. Coach Coleman is an intense man, I went up there one time and the last time I was there we had a position meeting with coach Coleman. He was intense the whole time. We were going over film from when they played Utah. He’s focused on what will make you a good receiver. I just like how intense he is. I like our relationship.”
Speed at the skill positions remains a prominent factor when evaluating prospects in the Lone Star Sate. Knox believes he can be used in a similar role as Devin Duvernay.
