Special teams not all good

Stephen Hauschka was a breath of fresh air for the Bills and his kicks. But the Bills special teams unit, overall, wasn’t good.

Andre Roberts had a decent return at one point for 44 yards. The few positives end there.

Jakeem Grant completely shred the Buffalo special teams unit throughout the game. He had 198 total yards of kick returns, and also had a 101 kick return for a touchdown. That kept the Dolphins in the game after it appeared the Bills were going to have a stranglehold. Good returns rarely happen in the NFL anymore, let alone scores off of them.

In addition, the Bills were caught flat-footed on an onside kick attempt which the Dolphins successfully completed. The Bills got lucky thanks to a quick fumble on the very next play from the Dolphins, but better teams will not bail out the Bills for bad special teams plays. It has to improve at some point.
