Pass rush comes to play

Buffalo’s pass rush had their best game of the season as a collective unit against the Dolphins. Entering the game, the Bills sat near the middle of the NFL with 22 sacks. It’s been an area of concern.

The pass rush came to play against the Dolphins. In total, the Bills brought down quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick six times on the day and hit him 13 times in total.

Rookie Ed Oliver had his first sack on a quarterback in his career, after his first “sack” came in Buffalo’s first meeting with the Dolphins, but on wide receiver Albert Wilson during a trick play. Star Lotulelei, Jordan Phillips, Shaq Lawson and Corey Liuget also had sacks from the defensive line. The final Bills’ sack came on a split sack from Tremaine Edmunds and Matt Milano.

It was not a good day to be Fitzpatrick, and now the Bills need to build on this.
