Defense gets off the field though

While Wallace was potentially a liability for the Bills and their defense, overall, that side of the ball for Buffalo just simply did one thing: They got off the field. Aside from a garbage time score when the game was well over with in the fourth quarterback late, the Bills defense held an opponent to 17 points for the second-straight week.

The tone was set early for this group with the turnover on down on the Niners’ first offensive drive of the game. The 49ers did grab the first score, but from there, only grabbed three points on their next four drives combined, a stretch that also included a Micah Hyde interception.

Buffalo’s second interception came when the 49ers did threaten late, but White jumped in front of a Mullens pass to Jeff Wilson Jr. on the second-to-last drive by the 49ers offense in the game.

In between San Francisco’s first drive and then their final scoring drive in junk time, they didn’t have a single drive on offense that went for double-digit plays in length. Helping the Bills do that was some big play from their defensive line. Vernon Butler was very noticeable throughout the game, which included a tackle for loss and a QB hit. As a team, the Bills hit Mullen seven total times. While sack were missing from this one, he looked like he was pressured.
