Zack Moss goes MIA

Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott sent a massive message to rookie Zack Moss and he didn’t care that the national spotlight saw it. Everyone noticed it

Over the course of the past four-straight games, Moss led the Bills in terms of snaps played in the Buffalo backfield. Last weekend, he had a 60/40 split advantage over Devin Singletary, the largest of those four games.

That all changed on one carry against the 49ers.

After the Bills offense was held scoreless on their opening drive thanks to a goal-line stand from the Niners defense, Buffalo’s defense returned the favor. The Bills did the exact same thing, however, Moss took himself right out of the game after that with what he did.

Moss fumbled the ball near the Bills’ own goal line, San Francisco linebacker Fred Warner recovered it, and moments later, the Niners took the early 7-0 lead. From there, Moss was on the bench all the way until the final quarter of the game. Not only did Singletary certainly out-snap him on Monday Night Football, he did in terms of touchdown in a big way.

Singletary finished the game with 21 total, while Moss had four, including only three carries. That was certainly a huge message being sent, and even when Moss did get back out there late in the game, he was stuffed at the line.

This could turn into something to watch moving forward on the Bills offense. Singletary averaged 3.4 yards per carry and added 22 receiving yards to his 61 rushing as the bell-cow rusher.
