Big guys stand out

We love us some Stefon Diggs. Heck, even John Brown showed in 2019 he’s a force to be reckoned with. But who doesn’t love themselves a big-bodied wideout that’ll go up and get the ball? According to several reports, two of Buffalo’s large wide receivers had some impressive grabs on the day.

First, rookie wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins has stood out the first few days of camp practice. At 6-foot-4, we knew he’s probably the biggest playmaker on the field. On one play in particular, ESPN described Levi Wallace all over Hodgins, but the rookie receiver came up with the contested grab with the team’s incumbent No. 2 cornerback on him. A big play by a sixth-round prospect on a pass from QB Matt Barkley.

While not a rookie, the second-year pro Duke Williams is also off to a hot start. Williams was the team’s fan favorite out of training camp a year ago and he showed rookie UDFA why. Per WGR-550 radio, Williams high-pointed the ball, snatching it away from Brown.

Both Hodgins and Williams are going to be right on the roster bubble throughout training camp and these big plays will certainly stand out when McDermott & Co. make their various roster choices. Along with these two, Isaiah McKenzie, Gabriel Davis and Robert Foster are among other receivers battling for depth spots. Davis and Foster missed Tuesday’s practice due to injury.
