3 keys to the game for the Oklahoma Sooners defense vs. Iowa State

Oklahoma should be locked in on these three keys defensively in order to come out on top Saturday against Iowa State.

One Dimensional

Oklahoma has done a marvelous job of making their opponents play on their terms. You won’t sit there and run the ball for 275 yards against them this year.

They have become a stout run defense, their biggest strength, putting teams back on their heels and forcing them into obvious passing downs. If they continue that on Saturday, they will be fine.

Iowa State’s run game has virtually been nonexistent, and Saturday is not the night the Sooners should allow them to get it going.

We’ve talked about Rocco Becht having a good game against Oklahoma State. But the Cowboys entered that game with a suspect secondary. Oklahoma has much better players.

Iowa State throwing north of 45 times plays right into Oklahoma’s hands as it has all year.
