2024 linebacker and Aggie commit Tristan Jernigan knows his best football is ahead of him

Texas A&M’s 2024 linebacker commit Tristan Jernigan is well aware that his 3-star designation is just the start of things to come

Texas A&M landed one of the most underrated prospects in the 2024 recruiting class when versatile linebacker Tristan Jernigan committed to the program out of Mississippi and despite his semi-insulting three-star rating at this early stage of the recruiting cycles’ final ratings, his future in Aggieland is oh so bright.

Jernigan made the announcement on Monday, May 1 at about 8:00 pm CT., posting on social media (Twitter) about his future plans, stating,

“First and foremost, I just wanna thank God and my family for everything y’all have done for me, I thank y’all for supporting me through this process and I’m ready to be an AGGIE. I’ve worked so hard for this and I’m proud of myself, thank ya’ll.”

After a stellar junior campaign at Tupelo High School where he recorded 96 tackles, 8.5 sacks, and two fumble recoveries, all Jernian is asking for is to ignore his tentative three-star rating, and focus on his on-field production. After participating in the Elite 11/All-22 camp for linebackers, Jernigan ended up earning MVP honors after another incredible showing in front of the best prospects the position has to offer.

Catching the attention of every Aggie fan, and of course, those of us who cover the program, Good Bull Hunting Managing Editor Robert Behrens was the first to note of his recent achievement, stating in a tweet, “This guy won’t be a “three-star” for much longer.” Well, Jernigan’s response was short and simple:

Entering his senior season at Tupelo with even more to prove, Tristan Jernigan’s grit and determination paired with a skill set that he’ll continue to refine with more reps is a great sign for Texas A&M at a position of need heading into the future. Gig ‘Em, Tristan!
