41 days till Bengals season opener: Every player to wear No. 41 for Cincinnati

A look through Bengals history at the No. 41.

A long list of players have worn the No. 41 for the Cincinnati Bengals over the years.

None of the names might register as more recognizable than Solomon Wilcots, an eighth-round pick in 1987 who played four seasons with the team before going on to establish a foothold as a television broadcaster and anchor.

More recently, names such as Nedu Ndukwe and Trayvon Henderson have held down the number.

With about 41 days until the Bengals start the season against the Browns, here’s a quick look at all the players to wear the number in team history, courtesy of the records at Pro Football Reference.

WATCH: Jordan Addison makes highlight-worthy grab

Jordan Addison continued to make highlight plays during Monday’s practice.

The Minnesota Vikings flipped to a new week by holding their first practice with pads.

Despite that addition, rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison continued to make highlight-worthy plays.

On Monday, the Vikings’ Twitter account posted a play from training camp that featured Addison hauling in a throw from Kirk Cousins while safety Lewis Cine attempted to jar the ball loose.

Although it’s early into camp, the first-round selection has impressed. Addison even opened training camp with a diving catch from Cousins, which also made social media accounts.

After releasing veteran Adam Thielen during the off-season, the Vikings are heavily investing in Addison to become a reliable target early on. If the initial returns are any indication, it seems like the Vikings will see some early returns on those investments.

Addison was selected with the No. 23 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and split his time in college between USC and Pittsburgh. In 2021, Addison won the 2021 Biletnikoff Award, given to the best wide receiver in a season.

New Lions CB Emmanuel Moseley still not practicing

New Lions CB Emmanuel Moseley remains out with his knee injury suffered last season

Earlier in training camp, Lions head coach Dan Campbell was asked about the status of one of the team’s prominent free agent signings. Cornerback Emmanuel Moseley began training camp on the non-football injury list as he recovers from a torn ACL suffered while a member of the San Francisco 49ers last year.

Campbell indicated that Moseley was excused and expected to arrive Monday. However, Monday’s practice came and went without any sign of Moseley. At the time of his earlier status update, Campbell refused to answer a follow-up question about if Moseley had indeed undergone a second procedure, as has been reported.

During Monday’s practice, a team source did indicate that Moseley was still due to arrive in Allen Park before the end of the day. As for his knee status or practice potential when the Lions retake the field on Wednesday after a scheduled day off on Tuesday, there was an organizational “no comment” even off the record.

It’s becoming a little concerning. Moseley was at June’s minicamp but his knee was heavily wrapped. At that time, Moseley appeared well behind Lions rookie QB Hendon Hooker in his mobility and range of motion despite having the ACL surgery some nine weeks before Hooker.

Signed to a one-year deal this offseason, Moseley has a lengthy list of injuries. He’s played more than 12 games just once (2019) in his five NFL seasons, all with the 49ers. The injury history includes missing the first two games of the 2021 campaign with an unrelated knee issue.

Prior to practice, defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn noted that Moseley has been actively participating in team meetings via Zoom.

LOOK: How to follow all the football coaches on X

The 2023 CFB season is one that many Badger fans are on the edge of their seat for, awaiting the start of the Luke Fickell era in Madison.

The 2023 college football season is one that many Badger fans are on the edge of their seat for as they await the start of the Luke Fickell era in Madison. Along with Fickell, many more coaches joined him in Madison and here’s how you follow them on X (formerly known as Twitter).

One of the more interesting coaching changes is at offensive coordinator Phil Longo (North Carolina) bringing his “Air Raid” offense to Madison. Longo has worked with NFL-caliber quarterbacks Sam Howell (now with the Commanders) and Drake Maye (expected to be early round selection in 2024), so there are high expectations for him and SMU-transfer Tanner Mordecai at Wisconsin in 2023.

On defense, Jim Leonhard is no longer with the team and Mike Tressel (Cincinnati) will be replacing him. Tressel’s defense at Cincinnati was amongst the best in the nation and he’s expected to maintain Wisconsin’s defensive identity.

WWE SummerSlam 2023 matches: Updated card for Detroit

See who will be in action at Ford Field in Detroit with the latest rundown of WWE SummerSlam 2023 matches.

Ford Field, prepare for the Biggest Party of the Summer. WWE SummerSlam 2023 is headed your way this weekend, ready to deliver what should be a spectacle that is second only to WrestleMania.

There are some big, emotional matches planned to help ensure it reaches that status (which WWE will promote as multiple main events, but sorry, only the match that goes on last is really the main event). Roman Reigns will defend both his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and his position as Tribal Chief in Tribal Combat against vengeful cousin Jey Uso in what could be one of the emotionally charged bouts you’ll see in any wrestling company this year.

There’s plenty of ill will built up between Seth Rollins and Finn Balor as well — seven years, to be exact. They will clash over Rollins’ World Heavyweight Championship with the specter of a potential Money in the Bank cash-in by Balor’s teammate Damian Priest also hanging over their encounter.

Not to be outdone, Cody Rhodes will take on Brock Lesnar in the rubber match of a series currently tied 1-1. Can the American Nightmare finally put the Beast Incarnate behind him and return to his world title pursuits?

With less than a week to go, here’s how the card has shaped up, though we will update this post with any additions after Raw or SmackDown.

Last update: July 31, 2023, 9:20 p.m. ET.

WWE SummerSlam 2023 matches:

  • Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jey Uso – Tribal Combat for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and recognition as Tribal Chief
  • Seth Rollins (c) vs. Finn Balor – World Heavyweight Championship match
  • Asuka (c) vs. Bianca Belair vs. Charlotte Flair – Triple Threat match for the WWE Women’s Championship
  • Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar
  • Gunther (c) vs. Drew McIntyre – WWE Intercontinental Championship match

Kevin Owens questions what the future holds once his WWE contract ends

Could his current WWE contract be the last for Kevin Owens? He sounds like he’s at least pondering that.

Kevin Owens has been considering what his future holds in pro wrestling.

In December 2021, WWE signed Owens to a contract extension, and in December 2022, he announced that two years remained on his deal, setting him up to become a free agent in late 2024.

Owens only has under 18 months left on his WWE contract, leaving him to wonder what will come after it expires. He previously said he would stay in a pro wrestling ring for the long term, but his recent interview with the Toronto Sun suggests he is uncertain about his next steps once the time comes.

“That’s a great question,” he said when asked what’s left for him to accomplish. “I really don’t know. I used to say I don’t see myself not being in the ring for another five to 10 years. And if I said it right now, I’d be lying because over the last few months, I have to admit, I don’t know if that’s true anymore. I look at things and I don’t know where I stand going beyond the next year and a half. I know I want to be involved in wrestling. I know I want to be involved in the WWE and I know I have a place here. I just don’t know where it is exactly. Maybe it’s still in the ring, maybe it’s not. I don’t know.”

The former WWE Universal Champion also said that he no longer worries about winning titles or headlining WrestleMania, but instead wants to give fans fun memories of him.

He continued, “I think for the next year and a half, my focus is just on enjoying everything I do as much as possible. There’s not really a worry about winning a title or main-eventing WrestleMania or any of that stuff anymore, which are the dreams that everybody has because I’ve been so blessed and I’ve gotten to do all of that. So I just want to have fun and I want to give people fun times to remember me by. Whether this is the end for my wrestling, I don’t know and I don’t want to sound dramatic, I don’t want to say this is a retirement speech or anything because I might still be wrestling for 10 years. I have no idea. My thought process right now is just to try to enjoy the next year and a half as much as I possibly can because I don’t know what’s on the other side. That’s really all I’m worrying about.”

This is a refreshing way of looking at the journey ahead. Owens wants to enjoy and live in the moment because he doesn’t know what the future holds, and that’s okay. WWE fans now have the chance to enjoy his in-ring performances and anticipate seeing him at more shows until at least the end of 2024.

Rutgers baseball will play home games at a brand-new facility in 2026

Rutgers Athletics partnered with Middlesex County in efforts to build a new state-of-art facility to host home games for Rutgers baseball.

Rutgers baseball has a new home.

On, it became official that Rutgers basbeall will be moving to a new home after a deal was officially announced in partnership with Middlesex County’s Community, Innovation, and Opportunity (CIO) Strategic Investment Plan. The result of this working partnership is a multipurpose community venue that will feature a new baseball stadium.

Rutgers Athletics has entered into a letter of intent with Middlesex County, solidifying a partnership with the Scarlet Knight baseball program to build a state-of-art facility. The agreement between Rutgers baseball and Middlesex County will span three to five years, starting in 2026.

The future will be located on Middlesex College’s campus and will host Rutgers baseball home games starting in 2026. Also, this venue will boast Rutgers amenities, including well-equipped locker rooms, air-conditioned batting and pitching tunnels, and top-tier broadcast streaming capabilities suitable for networks like the Big Ten Network, ESPN, and other national and regional broadcasters.

The new enhancements will put Rutgers, Middlesex County, and Middlesex County College as the top destination for sports in New Jersey and the northeast region. The new complex will help Rutgers head coach Steve Owens and his coaching staff continue to grow the program by pursuing Big Ten Championships at a state-of-art facility.

[lawrence-related id=28668]

The location of this new facility will be in Edison, roughly 15 minutes from the team’s facility on the Livingston campus. The Multipurpose Community Venue will host a select series and home games for the Scarlet Knights. Rutgers baseball will continue to use Bainton Field and its on-campus facilities at Jersey Mike’s Arena, and the new multipurpose facility will not affect future planned upgrades to Bainton Field and on-campus facilities for Rutgers baseball.
