5-star CB Domani Jackson is down to two schools

Did Alabama make the final cut for the talented 5-star Domani Jackson?

The early signing period is now just a couple of weeks away and Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide are looking to finish the class of 2022 the right way.

The good news just keeps rolling in for the Tide as moments ago five-star cornerback Domani Jackson released his top two schools. According to the release on Twitter, Jackson is down to Alabama and USC.

Standing at 6’1″, 180 pounds, Jackson is a talented prospect hailing from Santa Ana, California.

USC obviously is home to Jackson, but Alabama has the winning culture that Jackson admires.

Roll Tide Wire will be here every step of the way to cover not only Domani Jackson’s recruitment, but all of the talented prospects that the Tide is chasing!

Texas WR Al’Vonte Woodard enters the transfer portal

Texas loses wide receiver Al’Vonte Woodard to the transfer portal.

Texas wide receiver Al’Vonte Woodard entered his name into the transfer portal on Tuesday.

He joins wide receiver Joshua Moore and linebacker Ayodele Adeoye as members of the 2018 class to hit the transfer portal this season. The 2018 class finished as the No. 3 class in the country.

The 247Sports composite rankings had Woodard as the No. 20 wide receiver in the country and No. 11 overall prospect in the state of Texas.

Woodard recorded just seven catches for 62 yards in his Texas career. The former four-star will be immediately eligible wherever he ends up.

Texas expects more attribution to follow as Steve Sarkisian said during the season he believes Texas will see upwards of 33 new scholarship players on the roster for next season.

Sarkisian will look to add talent to the wide receiver room via the transfer portal or the high school class.

Five-star QB Malachi Nelson follows Lincoln Riley to USC Trojans

Lincoln Riley has his first top recruit from the class of ’23 follow him to USC.

Five-star quarterback Malachi Nelson, who had decommitted from the Oklahoma Sooners following head coach Lincoln Riley’s departure, has taken the next step to move on from the program — or, in this case, “fight on.”

The move to USC by Nelson now leaves all eyes on the other three top recruits from Oklahoma’s 2023 class: five-star wide receiver Brandon Inniss, five-star athlete Makai Lemon—who just announced on Tuesday he was decommitting—and four-star running back Treyaun Webb. All have pivoted from Norman following Lincoln Riley’s departure to the West Coast.

So what’s next for the Sooners? While significant, the moves aren’t something that a perennial power like Oklahoma will need to fix with a dramatic course of action. But it certainly doesn’t help, either. Finding Riley’s replacement is the logical next step—and will help paint a clearer picture for the program once that piece of the riddle is solved.

Overall though? Add in Brian Kelly’s move to LSU, and this is shaping up to be quite the recruiting trail heading into next season’s class (which includes that talented guy named Arch Manning).

One thought on every Thunder player as the first full month ends

With November basketball in the rear-view mirror, there’s been enough time to get a feel for the Thunder.

With the Oklahoma City Thunder’s first full month complete, we’ve seen enough to get a general gauge on the players and the system.

After winning only one of their first seven games, the Thunder sprung into game mode, rattling off four victories in a row and getting up into a play-in spot. Oklahoma City then fell into a slump, closing the month with eight losses in a nine-game stretch.

It’s already been quite the whirlwind. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been up-and-down after playing like an All-Star last season; Josh Giddey has been impressive as a rookie; Lu Dort has taken a step forward.

And the Thunder continue to put in the energy and effort that tends to keep them in games, even the ones they lose.

There have been positives. There have been negatives. Over the first 20 games of the season, there has been quite a bit of action to gather takeaways.

Let’s simplify it with one thought about each player.

Bengals reveal jersey combo for Week 13 clash with Chargers

A threads update for the Bengals.

The 7-4 Cincinnati Bengals stare down a critical AFC battle with the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 13.

And they’ll do it in style with their freshly redesigned jerseys. Tuesday, the team revealed it will wear the jerseys with the black tops, white pants and black stripes along the side.

This happens a week after the Bengals debuted a new jersey combo for the first time in that 41-10 beatdown of the Pittsburgh Steelers.

A black jersey look for the Bengals feels more traditional than a week ago but should look great nonetheless at a packed Paul Brown Stadium.

Those Chargers, who started the season 4-1 and looked like contenders, are now 6-5 and losers in two of their last three but remain close behind the Bengals in the official AFC playoff order.

Everything the CFP committee said about the fifth release of the CFP rankings

Here is everything the CFP committee said about why it ranked teams where it did in the latest CFP Rankings.

The latest College Football Playoff rankings were released Tuesday night, and we’re now less than a week away from knowing which teams will take part in the final four teams to be a part of college football history. Ohio State dropped to No. 7, and it would take some pretty extraordinary things to get the Buckeyes back in the conversation for a spot in all the fun.

Things changed drastically among the teams contending after a drama-filled Rivalry Week and the CFP committee had to do its best to sort it all out. It’s a challenge for sure, but at least CFP Selection Committee Chair Gary Barta makes himself available to face the music and firing squad from the media that questions the way teams are rated.

Barta did the same on Tuesday evening and we like to bring it all to you. Here are all the questions and comments the CFP committee had for everyone through the mouthpiece of Barta.
