Garrett Nussmeier of Flower Mound Marcus High School has postponed his commitment date from the originally planned date of April 18. Due to the coronavirus, Nussmeier was not able to complete visits to three schools in his final five.
The four-star quarterback told 247Sports, “I wanted to finish my visits to get to see Miami, Texas and Texas A&M.”
On Texas and new offensive coordinator Mike Yurich, Nussmeier said, “we’ve had a relationship for a long time. He was recruiting me hard at Oklahoma State before he left. I kind of knew when he got the Texas it would pick up. That’s a huge plus and Texas is a huge university and the chance to play for them is pretty cool.”
Due to unforeseen circumstances I will not be commiting today. I have no futher date planned and will take it day by day. Thank you, stay safe!

The Texas product is the seventh-ranked pro-style QB in the country according to 247Sports’ composite. The site’s crystal ball predicts he will pick LSU, where he already has taken a visit.
Nussmeier has not released a new date for his commitment and based on what he has said, will not commit until he is able to visit the three remaining schools. Once the COVID-19 pandemic has slowed, one of the most sought after prospects in the state will make his decision.
