2021 four-star defensive end Kelvin Gilliam announces commitment date

Kelvin Gilliam, a 2021 defensive end, has announced he will be committing on August 22. A four-star prospect, Gilliam posted a top 10 consisting of California, Florida, Kentucky, LSU, Minnesota, Oklahoma, Penn State, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia Tech.

Gilliam comes from Highland Springs, Virginia, ranking as the fourth-best in-state player on the 247Sports composite. He is on the fringe of becoming a top 100 prospect nationally and it a top 10 weakside defensive end in the 2021 class.

On 247Sports’ crystal ball, there is one prediction for Gilliam to commit to Lincoln Riley and the Oklahoma Sooners. However, the prediction only comes with five out of 10 confidence.

Currently in Texas’ class, there are three defensive end commitments, with two being on the weak side. Four-stars Jordan Thomas and Derrick Harris Jr. are officially listed as defensive ends, while five-star Ja’Tavion Sanders is classified as an athlete.

Sanders plays both wide receiver and defensive end and is expected to play for Chris Ash when he arrives on campus in 2021.
