– The Steelers have earned the benefit of several dozen drafting doubts by this point, but this was a rough one. It’s not necessarily their fault considering they didn’t have a first rounder and had just two selections before the 124th pick, but there’s not a whole lot there to get cranked up over.

– Chase Claypool was a good shot for the stars. The very big, very athletic Notre Dame receiver has a nice upside, but he’s likely more of a puzzle piece than a draft-maker. That was sort of the issue with the entire Steeler draft …

– It’s a mish-mosh of talents and positions. The Steelers needed receiving help, and it got one. They needed linebackers who could rush the passer, and they got one in Charlotte’s Alex Highsmith. They had six picks and took six different positions with four coming after the first 120 selections. That’s a recipe for a lost draft.
