23. Kansas City Chiefs 2020 NFL Draft

– It’s a typical Kansas City draft, which means it didn’t do anything conventional. It’s impossible to argue against what the best team in the NFL does, but there’s little to no value with any of the picks – it did the same thing last year.

– The interior of the lines didn’t get any help, and just about every pick was a reach. The Chiefs needed some bulk at defensive tackle, and could’ve used a good guard for the offensive side. Both were there late in the second round when they took Mississippi State LB Willie Gay.

– Clyde Edwards-Helaire should work – he’s a nice fit for the offense, but so is any good running back. He had better be great, considering KC should’ve traded down for him. There was little to no value in taking an RB there.

Best Value Pick: OT Lucas Niang, TCU (3rd)
Biggest Reach: RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire, LSU (1st)
Late Flier That Could Work: DE Mike Danna, Michigan (5th)
2019 NFL Draft Ranking: 32
2018 NFL Draft Ranking: 18
