Contract? Hmmm…

Wrapping up Diggs talk, let’s talk dollars and cents.

So the big comparison between the Bills’ Diggs trade and the Texans-Cardinals trade involving DeAndre Hopkins was the contract situation. The Bills gave up a lot more, but Diggs didn’t want a new contract. Hopkins does, near $20 million per season, much more than Diggs’ $12 million.

But wait… does Diggs actually want a new contract? Beane was asked, and gave another intriguing response.

“That’s one of those things I don’t like to get into, contract stuff,” Beane said. “I try to avoid that question, that’s one of the things I’d rather not get into. He’s happy to be in Buffalo and that’s probably the best way I can leave it.”

He… could have just said no Diggs doesn’t have a contract issue, but… he didn’t. Not to speculate anything here, but it’s a noteworthy comment from Beane.
