Dolphins sign replacement WR
Way back at the start of this piece, we mentioned that the Dolphins had two players opt out. Both were wide receivers in Allen Hurns and Albert Wilson. They needed replacing, and Chester Rogers is getting the chance to fill in. According to Dolphins Wire, the former Colts receiver was signed last week by the team.
Rogers had a solid 2018 season with the Colts, which was Andrew Luck’s final season. Rogers posted 53 receptions for 485 yards and two scores — and he now comes to Miami as a possible slot option to replace Wilson. Rogers was placed on injured reserve for the final four games of the 2019 season with the Colts, providing an end to his career with the team.
In 12 games and only six starts last season, Rogers had just 16 catches for 179 yards, but he did still find the end zone twice. Rogers joins the likes of DeVante Parker, Preston Williams, Gary Jennings, Isaiah Ford and tight end Mike Gesicki in the playmaker roles for the Dolphins.
