The Cowboys, coming off an impressive- and in some categories, historic- two-game sweep of New York teams to start the 2023 season, are welcoming back several key players to the practice field in anticipation of Week 3’s trip the Arizona desert to face the 0-2 Cardinals.
Offensive lineman Tyler Smith was back on a limited basis on Wednesday, hoping his hamstring rehab progresses enough by Sunday to allow him to make his ’23 debut. Guard Chuma Edoga was also limited, but guard Zack Martin did not participate in the midweek session after being rolled up on in the fourth quarter of last Sunday’s win over the Jets.
Safety Jayron Kearse also sat out with an illness, but positionmate Donovan Wilson was a full participant, apparently fully healed from his calf injury.
Wide receiver Brandin Cooks was limited- but did practice- after missing Week 2.
The Cardinals had two DNPs; defensive lineman and former Cowboy Carlos Watkins sat out, as did linebacker Josh Woods, who also missed last week’s loss to the Giants.
Here’s a look at who’s on the first practice reports of the week for both teams.
