The Huskers opened the month of December with a Saturday afternoon game against Georgia Tech. Nebraska trailed at halftime for the third time this season, this time down 32-22. But the Huskers stormed back from the deficit, outscoring the Yellowjackets 58-40 in the second half to pull out the 80-72 victory.

Nebraska finished the contest, going 32-of-61 in field goal shooting. For the third time this season, they finished with a 50-plus shooting percentage. Jaz Shelley wrangled in a big game for the Huskers, dropping 22 points for her first 20-point game of the season. Shelley also went three-of-nine from beyond the arc and served up eight assists.

Alexis Markowski finished second in scoring for Nebraska, delivering 15 points in the win. Markowski accompanied the 15 points with ten rebounds to record her fourth double of the season. Markowski also snatched a season-high two steals.

A duo of freshmen joined the Huskers’ outing. Freshman Natalie Potts achieved her sixth double-digit game in scoring, finishing with 13 points in the win. In just 13 minutes of action, Freshman Logan Nissley went on a surge, going three-for-five in 3-point shooting and four-of-six in field goal shooting to score 11 points.

Nebraska is now 6-2 on the season and will remain home on Tuesday night as it welcomes UNC Wilmington. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. The game can be viewed on B1G+.
