Rutgers football landed three commitments over this past weekend, adding to a class that is strong and already has 19 commitments.
And the impact is being seen with the program’s national recruiting ranking following Rutgers football’s trio of commitments over the weekend. The three commits who came in for Rutgers this past weekend and became a part of the 2024 recruiting class:
- Georgia defensive back Antonio White (a three-star recruit)
- West Virginia defensive back Sage Clawges (a three-star recruit)
- Wisconsin offensive lineman Carter Kadow (a three-star recruit)
The impact of this, beyond the obvious of adding talent to the program, is also the national perception of the rebuild being undertaken by Rutgers head coach Greg Schiano and his staff. This class is strong, solid and deep, something that Rutgers has not consistently had since entering the Big Ten in 2014.
There is no doubt that adding talented players attracts other talented players. And this is certainly being born out with Rutgers now grabbing plenty of talent that holds other Power Five offers.
In turn, the three major recruiting services all see to rate this class highly for Rutgers. The two oldest services, Rivals and 247Sports, are the ones that have Rutgers ranked the highest in their national tracking.
In the overall recruiting rankings tabulated by 247Sports, Rutgers currently sits at No. 23 nationally out of 107 programs. The Scarlet Knights have consistently been top 25 by 247Sports over the past three weeks.
Rutgers football moved up four spots over the weekend according to Rivals, who now has the Scarlet Knights as No. 17 in the nation with their current class.
In the Rivals rankings, Rutgers is the only recruiting class without a four-star recruit.
The one outlier has and continues to be On3, who has Rutgers at No. 37 with their current class.
