With pick #202, the Browns select WR Michael Woods II

The Browns add another receiver, this time one that could excel outside but also loves to block so much he posted his own Twitter thread of his pancake blocks earlier this season:

The Cleveland Browns have brought in three veteran receivers and, now, have brought in two drafted receivers as well. Earlier in the offseason, Amari Cooper was added in a trade while Jakeem Grant, primarily a returner, and Javon Wims were brought in as free agents.

In the third round of the draft, Cleveland added David Bell out of Purdue. Now, with pick #202, the Browns select WR Michael Woods II out of Oklahoma.

Woods is Cleveland’s second Oklahoma addition after Perrion Winfrey was added earlier Saturday. It is unlikely Woods can match his former/current teammate’s energy from his media session.

After two years at Arkansas, Woods moved over to Oklahoma for his final season. His best year came in 2020 with the Razorbacks when he had 32 receptions for 619 yards and five touchdowns.

At the NFL combine, Woods ran a 4.55 40-yard dash with a vertical jump of 34.5 and a broad jump of 125. His short speed scores are the best part of his athletic testing:

For Cleveland, Woods projects as a developmental prospect on the outside with some size and speed to win early in routes.

Showing how much he values blocking, Woods posted a thread of his pancake blocks on Twitter earlier this year:

The Browns have two picks remaining in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL draft.
