Wisconsin wide receiver enters the transfer portal

The Allen story took many twists and turns at Wisconsin

Wisconsin’s crowded and talented wide receiver room got one spot thinner today. Junior Markus Allen announced his plans to re-enter the transfer portal, that after initially entering last October and opting to return to school in December.

The Allen story took many twists and turns at Wisconsin. The Ohio native flipped his high school commitment from Michigan to the Badgers, joining Paul Chryst’s loaded class of 2021. He then played in eight games over two seasons in Madison, tallying 10 total receptions for 156 yards and one touchdown. That second season was cut short in mid-October, as Allen initially entered the transfer portal after Wisconsin fired Chryst.

As if there weren’t too many twists already, Allen committed to Minnesota out of the portal in late November as Wisconsin was hiring Luke Fickell. On December 9 of that year, he decommitted from the Gophers and decided to return to Madison, where he ended up spending spring practice before re-entering the portal.

Wisconsin’s wide receiver room now consists of Chimere Dike, C.J. Williams, Keontez Lewis, Will Pauling, Bryson Green, Skyler Bell, Quincy Burroughs, Tommy McIntosh, Vinny Anthony and others.
